Since 30 March, Palestine witnessed a revolt or open war against the move of the United States ambassy towards Jerusalem at the same time a diplomatic "chess game" started. Palestine and Israel knew all of a sudden who were their friends and who not. Here we focus the diplomatic game of chess.
Latin America is a big continent, with a lot of votes regarding the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. After the opening of the US ambassy in Jerusalem, Guatemala followed suite, it was also the second country to recognize Israel after the Nakhba in 1948.
Also the newly elected governement of Paraguay jointed suite as third country, a diplomatic correspondent of Haaretz said it's very interesting: should we cherish Paraguay, because of its protection of Jew during the world war two, or should we dispize it because it was the hide out of nazi-doctor Mengele. This is interesting, because with Paraguay they don't even know if they come to Jerusalem to support the country.
Turkey and South Africa withdrew the repectively consul and ambassador, Turkey even kicked out the Israeli ambassador, making him strip on the airport which is against international law.
At the same time four countries (Poland, Hungaria, Czech Republic and Romenia) in the EU went to the opening of the ambassy and the Palestinian Authory withdrew its ambassadors from these four countries. It also withdrew its embassy out of Paraguay and Guatemala.
An interesting fact is that Angola sacked it's envoy to Israel, because of his/hers attendance of the opening of the ambassy. Also Belgium, Spain, Ireland and Slovenia spoke up at the human rights council of the UN, both ambassadors where put on pressure. So in total 31 one countries attended the opening of the US ambassy in the Israel.
